The following therapists were all trained in Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy through didactic instruction and supervised clinical work that involved an IBCT trained supervisor observing their work in couple therapy, usually via video or audio tape, and providing regular feedback. Some were trained in the approach as part of their participation in a clinical trial of couple therapy sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health; others were trained in the approach as part of their graduate training with Andrew Christensen at UCLA or Neil Jacobson at the University of Washington. However, most of the therapists were trained as part of a major effort by the Veteran Administration of the United States to train therapists in Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. Thus, many of the therapists below provide only services to veterans and their families as part of normal health care services for veterans at VA hospitals and clinics. These therapists are indicated by the notation: “Services through the VA only.” Others have private practices and see clients in addition to their work through the the VA system. Still other therapists below are not connected with the VA and simply offer their services through their practices. The following list of trained therapists is not meant to imply certification or current license status nor are the names of the therapists included below intended to be specific referrals. This service does not include and does not intend to confer opinions, ratings, or reviews of participating professionals or of the services they provide. Dr. Christensen does not assume responsibility with respect to the selection of a therapist and the outcome of the therapy. This list is provided as a public service and includes the names and contact information of therapists who were trained in IBCT and who chose to participate in this service.
